RICO Showcases BNS’s HD IPTV Solution

Singapore’s RICO to show case an HD IPTV solution for vessels and cruise ships by Hong Kong based IP solutions provider BNS at the Asia Pacific Maritime trade show held this week at Singapore Expo.

The BNS showcase is based on the company’s Multi Dwelling Unit IPTV solution, which is a carrier-grade IPTV solution that can be deployed without stringent requirements and costs usually attached to Telco IPTV services.

RICO’s demonstration of BNS’s solution will showcase system features that are specifically tailored to the MDU/Hospitality market, including HD broadcast channels, VOD services, Personal Messaging, Interactive Room Service and TV games.

TANDBERG Television unveils its next generation solution for switched digital video. Verismo Launches IPTV Broadcasting Platform

Verismo Networks has announced the availability of its ViPTV platform, an end-to-end broadcasting system. The new service looks to be a competitor to solutions such as NewLion's iPTV service. Verismo Networks will supply a set-top box (no pricing as of yet) to consumers who can then download content to it over their standard broadband connection or stream video content from websites like Google, YouTube, and Yahoo.

The ViPTV service is completing its beta testing, and Verismo Networks is currently looking for content providers interested in creating IPTV channels via the service. Providers can offer their content for monthly subscriptions and pay per view by the end of March 2007.

Entone, Minerva, Latens Partner

Iwedia, Ocean Blue Software Receive UK DTG Certification

France-based Iwedia, a provider of embedded software for digital television, and UK-based Ocean Blue Software, developer of software solutions for the digital home, announced the certification by the UK Digital Television Group (DTG) of their MHEG-5 V1.06 solution.

The solution is the result of the integration of Iwedia’s Comedia DVB middleware and Ocean Blue’s Voyager MHEG-5 and DSM-CC software. Targeted at set-top boxes and integrated digital television manufacturers, the solution is available in conjunction with a wide range of chipsets.
