Ruckus Wi-Fi to Supply Telenor's IPTV Service in Sweden

ruckus_logo.gifRuckus Wireless has been selected by Telenor to supply Smart Wi-Fi 802.11g systems for the wireless distribution of its popular IPTV service, offered to subscriber homes throughout Sweden through the wholly owned subsidiary Bredbandsbolaget.

Under the agreement, Ruckus Wireless is supplying Telenor with its award-winning MediaFlex 802.11g Smart Wi-Fi systems. The Ruckus MediaFlex systems are being made available to consumers in Sweden through Telenor retail outlets, and can be easily self-installed by subscribers.

Ruckus-patented Smart Wi-Fi technology was selected by Telenor to reduce installation costs, speed subscriber acquisition and give customers greater freedom and flexibility over the installation and distribution of its IPTV service within the home.

Ruckus Wireless Lands Deutsche Telekom IPTV Deal

Ruckus Wireless inks landmark deal with T-Home a division of Deutsche Telekom. Ruckus Wireless has been selected by T-Home to supply 802.11a Smart Wi-Fi systems to enable in-home wireless distribution of its Entertain Comfort IPTV service. Available immediately, Deutsche Telekom is private-labeling the Ruckus system as the Speedport W 100 Bridge under its popular T-Home brand. The Speedport W 100 is becoming available to consumers throughout the more than 700 Telekom shops and the online portal www.t-home.de. T-Home is offering the Ruckus Wireless Smart Wi-Fi system as the only in-home wireless distribution option for its IPTV service. The SpeedPort W100 Bridge (a Wi-Fi access point and Wi-Fi adapter) is provided to T-Home customers at a one-time cost of €149.99.

BT And FON to Launch Largest Wi-Fi Community in UK

BT and FON promise to transform the UK's market for wireless broadband by launching BT FON, the world's largest Wi-Fi community. BT's more than 3 million consumer Total Broadband customers will be invited to join the global community of people sharing their broadband.

At launch, new members will be part of an existing community of 500,000 members and will have access to more than 190,000 FON hotspots worldwide. Anyone joining in will be able to use those FON hotspots across the world and all the new BT FON hotspots free of charge.

Sonaecom Selects Ruckus Wireless IPTV

Ruckus Wireless announces that it has been selected by Sonaecom to supply its award-winning MediaFlex multimedia wireless systems for Sonaecom's fast growing Clix SmarTV IPTV service.

Launched in April of 2006, Clix SmarTV was the first IPTV service offered in Portugal. It remains the only IPTV service available to Portugal's 3.6 million households.

Ruckus to Show New Wireless Dongle Streaming IPTV

Ruckus Wireless introduced the MediaFlex USB Dongle, designed to provide stable, wireless connectivity to in-home multimedia devices such as set-tops and media center systems. The company will demonstrate at CES the first of several integration efforts of this new technology with an IPTV set top box from Motorola.

Unlike other USB Wi-Fi adapters, the Ruckus MediaFlex USB Dongle is the only video-grade wireless USB adapter on the market to leverage patent-pending BeamFlex smart antenna technology.
