D-Link Adds 200+ Channels of Internet Video to the TV

D-Link announces it has expanded the capabilities of digital media adapters by adding more than 200 channels of Internet TV to its best-selling MediaLounge Wireless HD Media Player (DSM-520), a wireless device that allows users to enjoy videos, music, photos and more from a PC on a TV using a simple remote control.

More than 200 online channels serving millions of Internet videos are brought to the TV by the D-Link HD MediaLounge Player using active-TV technology, a new service that allows easy access to Internet video and entertainment sites with a remote control.

Anevia Selected for BBC IPTV Services

YouTube announces the YouTube Nonprofit Program

Hundreds of nonprofits currently leverage YouTube to raise awareness of their causes. Today at the Clinton Global Initiative, YouTube announced the YouTube Nonprofit Program, a way to make it even easier for people to find, watch and engage with nonprofit video content on the site.

YouTube's 2007/2008 Clinton Global Initiative commitment enables nonprofit organizations (in the U.S. those with 501c3 tax filing status) that register for the program to receive a free nonprofit specific YouTube channel where they can upload footage of their work, public service announcements, calls to action and more. The channel will also allow them to collect donations with no processing costs using the newly launched Google Checkout for Non-Profits. YouTube's global platform enables nonprofits to deliver their message, showcase their impact and needs, and encourage supporters to take action.

DivX and Yahoo Announce 2 Year Deal for Yahoo! Toolbar

DivX and Yahoo announce a global agreement to offer consumers who download DivX video software tools a co-branded version of the Yahoo! Toolbar and Internet Explorer 7 optimized for Yahoo!. The Yahoo! offering is expected to launch early November 2007 and will replace third party software previously distributed by DivX.

DivX video software tools are used by consumers around the world to create, play and share high-quality video files across the PC, living room and mobile environments. Online Video Services has Grown Tremendously

The number of paying users of online video sites has grown significantly between 2006 and 2007, new research from Parks Associates indicates. Broadband Video: A Market Update finds that the number of broadband households paying for online video content now stands at nearly 12 million, up from a little more than three million in 2005-2006.

Tilgin's Agreement to Provide End-to-End IPTV Solutions

Tilgin announces a global cooperation agreement with Ericsson to provide pre-integrated IPTV set-top boxes. The agreement will see Tilgin IPTV set-top boxes being pre-integrated into Ericsson’s IPTV end-to-end solutions. Tilgin will supply IPTV set-top box solutions from the Mood 300 and Mood 400 series that include complete support for the latest generation of video compression MPEG-4 AVC and advanced functionality such as Personal Video Recording and high definition TV. EchoStar Buys Sling Media for $380 Million

EchoStar announces that it has agreed to acquire Sling Media a privately-held digital lifestyle products company. EchoStar, through its DISH Network, is the third largest pay-TV provider in the United States. The transaction values Sling Media at approximately $380 million and is payable in cash and EchoStar options. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2007.
