Verimatrix Selected for IOL Netcom's On-Demand IPTV

In addition to deploying the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System for IPTV, IOL will be offering premium, MPEG-4 content via subscriber's home PC through Verimatrix's ViewRight PC Player, the only independently-audited, secure PC player for IPTV on the market.

IOL will be offering the PC as a viable second screen in a subscriber's home, providing a cost-effective option to view its on-demand movie library and 150 broadcast channels. ViewRight is an integrated component of VCAS and provides the same level of content security and revenue protection as with dedicated STB equipment.

Verimatrix to Secure TUS TELEKOM's IPTV Offering

Through the advanced application of Internet cryptography, including Public Key Infrastructure and X.509 digital certificates, VCAS offers much higher levels of content protection than traditional smartcard systems and automatically identifies security breaches. VCAS for IPTV is designed for two-way networks and has been integrated with Dreampark's middleware and Envivio's headend equipment for the TUS TELEKOM platform.

TUS TELEKOM is a telecommunications provider operating an ADSL network within Slovenian territory, offering the service on two networks; its own and on an incumbent network. Its IPTV service is a response to the growing demand for entertainment and is available initially on the TUS TELEKOM network.

Using any platform, consumers can log onto WBLA.com on Mondays following the Thursday and Sunday broadcasts of shows like "Gossip Girl" to stream entire episodes in secure Flash. Because the content is both secure and in Flash format it circumvents any barriers for consumers given Flash's compatibility with both PCs and Macs. Verimatrix Selected to Secure IPTV Deployment in Columbia

Arcor Selects NDS's VideoGuard for IPTV in Germany

Arcor has selected NDS's VideoGuard content protection to secure its new IPTV service. Arcor-Digital TV will initially be available in 51 German cities and communities offering digital TV and advanced entertainment services such as VOD.

Operating a nationwide broadband network with a DSL subscriber base of over two million connections, Arcor selected the server-based content protection solution from NDS. VideoGuard Server is specifically designed for always-on two-way networks such as DSL and digital cable. It features proven VideoGuard CA and DRM technology, now providing security in over 50 Pay-TV platforms around the world. SyncTV's private beta launch of its TV download service, which will provide home-theater quality TV shows on an unlimited download basis.
