mPhase Technologies, a pioneer developer of technology for delivering television over telephone networks, will give a tutorial on Internet-based TV (IPTV) at a customer seminar in Moscow on Friday, May 12.
The 90-minute tutorial by David L. Klimek, mPhase's chief technology officer, followed by a demonstration, is part of a comprehensive three-day seminar geared to providers of broadband internet services. mPhase's TV+ System is a key enabler of IPTV services that are being deployed in Russia as part of a broadband services offer.
The mPhase TV+ System includes a breakthrough services creation capability that allows telephone companies to add and customize a wide array of new "As You Like It"(TM) services. In addition, the electronic program guide displays Cyrillic characters and is customized for the Russian market with Russian language technical support documentation.
The mPhase TV + System is built around an innovative and scalable cluster architecture where services control is managed through its Services Management System (SMS). Residing on general-purpose hardware like HP ProLiant servers, the software provides web-based interfaces for customer management, billing, logging and feature definition logic. It boasts a high degree of reliability with network failover features and offers unprecedented scalability to hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
