The Information &
Communications Technology Group at
Frost & Sullivan is pleased to announce
its Exclusive 2006 Quarterly Webinar on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 2:00 p.m.
CDT / 3:00 p.m. EDT.
The major driver behind IPTV or "telco TV" is a response to cable
operators' launching VoIP and creating a bundle of video, data and voice
services. Initially, the IPTV experience will be similar to the broadcast
TV experience in order to attract customers to an enhanced experience and
then over time, new applications will be introduced.
In this webinar, we will discuss what is IPTV and what it's not, the
drivers behind the services both from a provider and end user perspective,
competitive issues regarding offerings and platforms, highlight some
players and deployments and provide a market forecast.
"The television viewing experience is changing as television becomes
more customized to users' preferences and less of a passive viewing
experience," notes Frost & Sullivan Senior Analyst Lynda Starr. "The use of
personal video recorders, iPods and other MP3 players, has accustomed
consumers to being their own programmers based on a fairly large content
selection, which is spurring the IPTV market."
Those interested in participating in the interactive webinar should
send an email to Mireya Castilla - Corporate Communications at
mireya.castilla@frost.com with the following information: your full name,
company name, title, telephone number, e-mail address, city, state and
country. She will send the registration details via email upon receipt of
the above information.
This briefing will benefit vendors offering the various IPTV set-top
devices, component vendors (chip sets, boards), service providers
evaluating and offering IPTV-based services, content providers (programming
networks), consumer electronics retailers and e-tailers, network
infrastructure providers ranging from cable and DSL to VoIP softswitches,
to name a few.
