Phil Thompson, executive vice president of product management for mPhase Technologies, will be part of a Light Reading Telecom Investment Conference Thursday, discussing the transformation of network architecture to enable telephone companies to offer Internet Protocol television (IPTV) services.
Thompson will speak about the worldwide imperative by telephone companies around the world to tap new revenues and realize better return on their investment in broadband infrastructure. The conference session, titled "IPTV - Driving Carrier Network Transformation" is on the agenda of the Light Reading event being held Thursday, April 7, at the "W" New York Union Square Hotel. According to the organizers, "customer demand, competitive threats, and the availability of technology to deliver video services, are culminating in such a way that significant network transformations will undoubtedly ensue between 2005 and 2010."
With its TV+ System offer, mPhase is positioned to take advantage of this trend, because it offers telephone companies a way to seamlessly integrate IPTV with their broadband infrastructure and create a suite of As You Like It(TM) custom premium video on demand channels and targeted content.
