NeuLion Incorporated, the company driving convergence between the television and the internet, announced today that
IslandersTV is up and running – providing on-demand programming for New York Islanders hockey fans any time, anywhere in the world.
Islanders TV is the first 24 hour channel providing original content created by the Islanders, and its partners, not available anywhere else. Programming consists of all events leading up to a game, detailed post-game locker room interviews and analysis, that resembles reality television at its best.
"We are pleased that NeuLion's iPTV technology platform is the delivery vehicle of choice,” said Nancy Li, CEO and President of NeuLion Inc. "Using our NeuLion technology, Islanders TV is an enhanced website experience capable of showing a variety of programming choices to its viewer's on-demand. We are happy to be working with the Islanders organization on what we hope to be a great new service for hockey fans around the world.”
New York Islanders season ticket holders will be given a FREE special login to access the site. Other fans wanting to view, test and ultimately purchase the service can go to
www.newyorkislanders.com and click on the "Islanders TV” banner.
"We are extremely excited to be able to add to the fan experience with IslandersTV going live this week,” said Islanders general manager Garth Snow. "There isn't a service like this in professional sports that brings the fans so close to their favorite team. Because we have received the complete support of our players, coaching staff and broadcast partners, the behind-the-scenes access our fans will have to our team is unprecedented.”
The launch of Islanders TV follows successful partnerships with other niche market players, including KyLinTV (www.kylintv.com), servicing the Chinese speaking North American market. For more information on how the technology works or to begin your own unique network, go to www.neulion.com.
