IneoQuest Technologies and
TANDBERG Television announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at Supercomm that will strengthen the adoption of Video over IP technology for today's converged networks.
The use of IP networks as a transmission medium is an enabling technology to network operators providing IPTV and video on demand programming to their subscribers. Once on the converged network, IP packet loss and packet delay variations create the potential for video quality degradation at various points in the network.
"Working together, IneoQuest and TANDBERG Television are helping network operators to harness best in class network equipment and test tools to aggressively address video over IP quality challenges," said Richard Bullock, Business Development Manager for TANDBERG Television. "IneoQuest's ability to monitor hundreds of Video over IP streams simultaneously with the Media Delivery Index measurement, or MDI, is a clear value add to our nCompass Network Management System, pushing our customers' visibility of their network performance and video quality further than ever before and ensuring a better managed network and maximum uptime."
"Network operators' increasing adoption rate of IP for video transport has created a need for enhanced monitoring solutions," said Marc Todd, President and CEO of IneoQuest. "The size of IP networks and sheer numbers of video streams involved require innovative monitoring solutions to ensure the desired video quality is maintained across all streams. The TANDBERG nCompass Network Management System and IneoQuest monitoring tools combination is an excellent solution to better managed converged networks for maximum return on investment."
TANDBERG nCompass Monitoring provides top-level network monitoring, allowing early visibility of network issues with the ability to easily pinpoint the source of the problem. Ideally suited to many applications that require any degree of network monitoring. Any digital broadcast system that is distributed over multiple sites and requires central collection and management of alarms can be monitored using TANDBERG nCompass Monitoring.
