Coaxsys Incorporated, makers of the #1 deployed IPTV network, launched its new cable- and satellite-compatible home networking products at the CableNet Pavilion in San Francisco on April 3-5. The company currently offers the #1 IPTV network to telcos that distribute video, voice, and data throughout homes. The new TVnet/C and TVnet/S products are the first solutions that enable home networking over a home's existing coaxial cable while maintaining compatibility with legacy cable and satellite television delivery. These networks deliver full time consistent 100 Mbps with integrated Quality of Service (QoS) over any type or topology of existing coax.
The TVnet/C and TVnet/S (for cable and satellite compatibility, respectively) coexist with legacy television delivery over coaxial cable. This means that cable operators and satellite providers can now offer an in-home network without disrupting their current services and without having to go through the expensive and time consuming process of rewiring the home. The TVnet in-home network will enable the operator to deliver IP video, broadband access, and VoIP to any room with a coax jack -- thus providing the first multimedia-over-coax solutions available for these markets. Additionally, customers will be able to network video game consoles, PVRs, and other network-enabled devices by simply plugging into TVnet.
"We are extremely excited about this launch," said Coaxsys CEO Michael D'Addio. "While we are confident that our existing IPTV7000 product will maintain its lead in the IPTV networking market, our new products will open significant new markets. Cable operators and satellite providers need a simple, reliable, and inexpensive in-home high speed network that really works. We are now delivering on the promise that these industries have heard for years: High speed reliable networking without the need for rewiring the home."
All Coaxsys products are built in accordance with the TVnet Standard, which delivers a reliable, simple, and affordable means to network products within a home. TVnet-ready products do not require rewiring with Cat-5 cable, extensive installation, software upgrades, or ongoing support. Coaxsys adapters allow telcos, cable operators, and satellite providers to have an instant IP network over the coaxial cable that already exists inside 96% of U.S. homes.
