With the exponential growth of mobile devices such as smart-phones and tablets, and the addition of OTT video applications on new and existing residential devices such as set top boxes and games consoles, the number of content providers and content aggregators looking to find new channels to potential subscribers has increased considerably. To achieve this, the content providers are looking to CDN and wholesale network providers for video transport, while CDN and wholesale network providers are conversely looking to win new business for delivering that content.

Much of this content will be delivered using HTTP-based adaptive streaming technologies as a way to deliver multiple formats and video resolutions while adapting to varying network capability. Traditional quality assurance techniques for IPTV and cable video delivery are not designed to cater for the complexities of varying end devices and multiple adaptive streaming technologies.

The IneoQuest end-to-end solution for managed and unmanaged OTT video leverages the award winning IneoQuest video quality assurance solutions for IPTV and cable deployments, and builds on this using cloud-based data harvesting to produce the additional video analytics and business intelligence needed for mobile video delivery.

To handle the complexity of different transport technologies, stream types, and encryption in the end-to-end video workflow, IneoQuest is working closely with encoder vendors, network equipment manufacturers, and residential equipment manufacturers to build out a solid ecosystem that ensures the end-to-end video analytics are based on a strong collaborative supply chain.
