Exterity announces the launch of its new AvediaStream e3535 and e3555 encoders. The HD encoders are designed to enable organisations to scale video content to a variety of resolutions, up scaling to 1080p and downscaling to SQCIF, including the ability to downscale a 1080p HD video source to an iPhone 4 resolution. This allows organisations to scale video and deliver it to satellite offices, remote workers over the web, handheld devices and integrate IPTV channels with digital signage.
When the bandwidth available is low, these encoders are ideally suited to take a high definition stream and downscale the source into a suitable size for transmitting over the internet; or equally, where the viewing device is small like a smartphone, scale video to efficiently delivery content to the device.
The versatility of the new encoders are further enhanced with their support for both TV and native PC output resolutions, making encoding of a PC desktop simpler and more flexible. This allows the output of a PC application to be turned into a channel on the network and is an efficient way to distribute mass digital signage within an organisation.
Also, the AvediaStream e3535 and e3555 can scale-up content up to higher resolutions. This is particularly useful if an organisation needs to standardise content to a specific resolution or has equipment that requires content in a particular format.
As part of Exterity’s integrated, end-to-end building IPTV solutions, the new e3535 encoder includes HDMI and RGBHV connectors, with the e3555 supporting 3G-SDI via BNC inputs. They have been built to integrate with a wide variety of devices that organisations are now dependent on and form part of the established AvediaStream range of head-end equipment.
