ESPN Research + Analytics recently announced the results of one of the most in-depth studies on 3D TV to date compiling results from more than 1,000 testing sessions and 2,700 lab hours. The study focused on a number of topics including overall viewing enjoyment, fatigue and novelty effects, technology differences, production issues and advertising impact. In all over 700 measures were processed during the testing.
Bryan Burns, Vice President, Strategic Business Planning and Development at ESPN will be on hand to deliver the afternoon keynote address on Day 1 of
TV 3.0 – Innovations in TV & Content Delivery. During his address, Burns will share some of the more interesting results from the 3D study as well as his insights regarding the future of 3D TV for ESPN.
Burns currently leads the company’s domestic high-definition services, ESPN HD, ESPN2 HD, ESPNU HD and ESPNEWS HD. He has been an integral part of creation of the HD services from business planning prior to the announcement of ESPN HD in 2002. He chairs the company’s interactive television cabinet, as well as a team analyzing the future of 3-D television for the company.
