West Kentucky Rural Telephone Cooperative has selected
Aware’s Dr. DSL Line Diagnostics Platform as its IPTV and DSL line testing solution. The Dr. DSL Line Diagnostics Platform is an advanced test and diagnostics server-based solution that, when used in conjunction with West Kentucky’s installed access equipment, offers a comprehensive, centralized system for analysis and diagnostics of the carrier’s DSL lines.
Over the last several years, West Kentucky has demonstrated pioneering leadership in achieving a network to compete for video customers. In 2007, West Kentucky became one of the original beta customers for the National Rural Telecommunication Cooperative (NRTC)-sponsored initiative to bring IPTV to rural customers and has approximately 18,000 subscribers in Western Kentucky and Northwestern Tennessee. The carrier uses Occam Networks’ BLC 6000 equipment and OccamView(TM) Element Management System.
Aware’s Dr. DSL LDP is a software-based server solution with a robust standard-compliant testing and service assurance technology which helps service providers reduce costs, eliminate unnecessary equipment, and ensure the highest QoE for their customers. LDP works with multiple technology platforms and is unique in that it is compatible with multiple DSLAMs and chipset vendors and requires no additional equipment. As an integrated software-based solution, it combines the raw single-ended testing and dual-ended testing diagnostics data with Aware’s award-winning Dr. DSL software, which has been used to deploy millions of DSL lines worldwide.
Aware’s Dr. DSL LDP and evaluation platforms are available immediately either from Aware, Inc. or through reseller Occam Networks as an additional option for its BLC 6000 product line.
