announces that the Company’s Voyager in-car Mobile IPTV will be integrated with Microsoft’s MSN Autos Gas Price Finder, enabling drivers of cars equipped with Voyager to find the best, closest fuel prices in real time.
Adding a GPS upgrade module to Voyager, at an additional cost to consumers, will automatically activate the Gas Price Finder feature. Voyager users will be able to click an on-screen button to automatically feed their location to Microsoft’s MSN Autos online gas price facility. The gas pricing list will display in a popup window on Voyager’s screen, even during live TV play, and then the window will automatically minimize itself after a few minutes.
“Gas prices are a topic of high concern for people right now,” said Howard Leventhal, Chief Executive Officer of USTelematics. “We saw an opportunity to help folks deal with this serious economic issue in a technology-enhanced way and decided to implement this feature in Voyager.” For a demonstration of how this system displays real time gas prices in almost any U.S. zip code, see http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gasstations.aspx?zip&src=Netx
Aside from the additional cost of adding Voyager’s GPS Module to a Voyager installation, there will be no extra cost for using this Gas Price Finder feature beyond the ongoing monthly cost of connecting Voyager to EVDO broadband services.
“In one respect this may be thought of as further economic justification for subscribing to the wireless broadband services required to connect your kids to live TV programs in the back seat,” said Mr. Leventhal. “As we prepare Voyager to hand-off to others for manufacturing and distribution, we continue to enhance its value and functionality.”
