Parks Associates and CEA announce that Phil McKinney, vice president and chief technology officer of the Personal Systems Group at HP, will present the opening visionary keynote at
CONNECTIONS: The Digital Living Conference & Showcase.
McKinney will address conference attendees at 4:30 p.m. on the first day of the event, which will take place June 24-26 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The keynote address is titled "20 Years into the Future" and will discuss the technological innovations that will define the media and entertainment landscape over the next two decades, as well as what
issues businesses and consumers can expect as the physical and virtual worlds collide.
"HP's growing presence at many points of the computing, entertainment, and support value chain makes this a company to watch closely as the digital home grows in reach," said Stuart Sikes, president, Parks Associates. "Entertainment and multimedia networks are expected to account for 50 percent of the more than 89 million home networks in U.S. households in 2012, due in part to the innovation and vision of consumer electronics giants like HP."
"The world of media and entertainment continues to undergo radical change, and will continue to do so over the next 20 years," said Phil McKinney. "As people adjust to a world of always-on connectivity, and ubiquitous and personal content and devices, it is important to understand the challenges that will arise and what businesses are doing to help consumers respond to them."
