SecureMedia, the technology leader in content protection software for secure video delivery over IP networks, announced that Tut Systems is acting as the prime IPTV integrator for
ComSpan Bandon Networks, LLC IPTV service. The CompSpan Bandon "FiberCast" service is based on Tut Systems' Astria content processor platform, Kasenna's LivingRoom middleware platform and MediaBase video servers, as well as SecureMedia's Encryptonite ONE System conditional access/digital right management software for broadcast and VOD content security.
ComSpan Bandon Networks is a joint venture owned and operated by
Ledcor Technical Services, Inc (LTS) and ComSpan USA. LTS is a North American network development, design, deployment, system integration and managed operations services provider. ComSpan USA is a competitive local telecommunications operator based in Roseburg, Oregon that provides a complete range of fiber optic Internet, telephone and television services to rural markets. Through their JV with LTS the initial IPTV service will be launched in the coastal resort town of Bandon, OR utilizing Hitachi fiber to the home technology. To date, ComSpan Bandon has already pre-sold its IPTV services well in excess of its business plan objectives within the targeted market and expects a full service launch in May 2006.
