Adtec Digital is providing a superior IPTV solution to Malta-based electronic communications network operator.
Adtec's DTA-3050 Digital Turn Around Media Router allows Multiplus to provide a Pay TV service offering an ever-increasing variety of high-quality and cost-effective digital entertainment services to the public.
"Muliplus operates a fully-fledged DTV headend with 56 channels and is currently expanding to offer more," Multiplus Technical Manager, Lincoln Spiteri, said. "Adtec's DTA-3050 has 10 inputs meeting our needs and the cost per input is low. We found other solutions to be more expensive."
Adtec's DTA-3050 is designed specifically for direct-to-home (DTH) and enterprise IPTV applications. In addition to boasting 10 ASI inputs, Gigabit Ethernet and Conditional Access, the DTA-3050 is ideal for aggregating MPEG 2 transport streams and IP data service for delivery to an unlimited number of viewers equipped with low-cost IP set tops. "The fact that we can scramble all services onboard the DTA-3050 is a big advantage," Spiteri said. "We have found Adtec's units to be very stable. The modularity of the Adtec system allows us to partition-out services and localize problems making for a swift process."
"The support provided by Adtec is personal and direct," Spiteri said. "I find working with the Adtec staff a pleasure and they are always ready to take time out to help us with any issues. I also appreciate that some features that we needed quickly were given priority and delivered to us."
"Introducing the DTA-3050 in the headend helped us enhance operational stability," Spiteri said. "Our subscribers actually wrote to us expressing their satisfaction that Multiplus, while still a new and untested operator, was delivering a stable service meeting their expectations."
Adtec is currently partnering with Multiplus for joint software development for the DTA line of Adtec products. "It is my belief, that this type of intimate customer contact and willingness to share risk, will generate significantly greater performing products than ones developed without direct customer interacting and much greater customer satisfaction," Adtec President, Kevin Ancelin, said.
