NEC America, Inc. (NEC), a leading provider of innovative communications products, solutions and services, will unveil new optical infrastructure solutions intended to address the growing bandwidth needs driven by triple play service rollouts -- including Video on Demand (VoD) and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) at TelecomNEXT 2006, the premier event for the optical networking industry, held March 19 - 23, 2006, in Las Vegas. In NEC's booth #249, NEC will have on live display its new optical solution, as well as its complete line of North American optical networking solutions, including the recently announced GPON solution.
As a global technology leader, NEC understands the importance of implementing advanced solutions to better serve network operators; especially at a time when networks are expanding, and the demand for speed, versatility and increased reliability are high.
At the show, NEC will introduce new solutions in its SpectralWave(TM) optical networking technology family. These new offerings are aimed at adding "new dimensions" to what NEC calls the "generation-free" optical network. Leveraging the Company's reputation for reliability and performance, NEC's new optical products can expand beyond traditional optical transport to enable increased multi-dimensional, agile networks. In addition, NEC will be offering new monitoring software that is compatible with NEC's current SpectralWave line of optical edge solutions.
"Now, more than ever, operators are turning to innovative optical solutions to help increase efficiency, improve productivity and drive critical revenue-generating services, including IPTV or Video on Demand," said Rich Moran, director, product marketing, Optical Networking Systems Division, NEC. "NEC remains committed to helping carriers reach their business goals by offering a complete line of optical technologies and services that enable high-speed optical access from the core to the premise. We will have these solutions proudly on display at TelecomNEXT."
