M2B World Inc., a U.S.-based subsidiary of Amaru Inc., announced that it has developed a second server site to support its broadband entertainment on-demand channels. The additional server farm, based in San Jose, Calif., will operate in tandem with the hub in Singapore and will primarily support broadband channel offerings for U.S. and international markets, while increasing the company's capacity to add feature-rich content and allow for expanded viewership without sacrificing the quality of the delivery.
The San Jose server farm will now host all sites accessed by both international and U.S.-based viewers. These include:
The new server location will additionally host the soon-to-be-launched M2B World Travel site, combining streaming videos of travel-related content and online travel booking; the IPTV cache of content set to be launched by M2B in 2006; and the content management system for in-store video and advertising services expected to be made available in the second quarter of 2006.
The additional server farm allows the company to add newly developed applications while simultaneously increasing its U.S. customer base without sacrificing the high bitrates and quality of streaming that the company currently delivers. The dual points of origination are designed to ensure smooth delivery of content and provide an additional layer of reliability.
"The entertainment on-demand industry is poised to grow exponentially this year, as consumers are rapidly becoming accustomed to the option of programming that is immediately accessible," said Colin Binny, CEO of Amaru Inc., parent company of M2B World Inc. "This additional U.S.-based server farm is a result of our growth and is a reflection of M2B's anticipation of this consumer demand. The U.S.-based server farm allows us to maintain both the scope and quality level of our content delivery, prepares us for the product and content launches we expect this year and simultaneously expands our presence in the U.S."
M2B World Inc. has secured the services of a third-party hosting facility with specific expertise in maintaining the server farm, which in conjunction with the watchful eye of the Singapore-based technical team, will ensure uninterrupted service and allow the company to focus on its core strength - acquiring and distributing entertainment content for on-demand delivery around the world.
