On2 Technologies, Inc. announced that it has teamed with Macromedia at IBC 2005 in their stand #7.118 to demonstrate its Flix line of Flash Player 8 encoders to the 40,000 European customers projected to attend Europe's largest exhibition for digital media design and delivery, content creation and broadcast production vendors. Executives from On2 will be available to demonstrate how users of any skill level -- from professional developers to beginners -- can quickly and easily edit, encode and publish Flash video for Flash Player 8 with stunning picture quality.
Last month, On2 joined Macromedia in their announcement of Flash Player 8, highlighting the integration of On2's award-winning VP6 compression technology into its family of Macromedia Flash Player 8 products. Macromedia's adoption of the VP6 codec will enable hundreds of millions of Internet users to experience the quality and feature-rich capabilities of On2's industry-leading video compression technology.
"The Flash developer community is still buzzing from the launch of Flash Player 8 and the high quality Flash encoding tools available to them from On2," said Douglas McIntyre, chairman, president and chief executive officer of On2 Technologies. "Now, with the impending worldwide availability of Flash Player 8 and our accompanying Flix family of Flash encoders, we're here at IBC 2005 to demonstrate for all of Europe's most talented Flash developers and designers how the pristine quality imagery made possible by On2's VP6 codec will transform the way they create and deliver content on the Internet."
