X2 Corporation, a global manufacturer of digital lifestyle products, announced a strategic partnership with
DAVETV, a global IPTV digital entertainment distribution network. The companies will work together to collaborate in building and developing new IPTV and ITV platforms for consumers and the OEM marketplace. The new alliance expects to propel both companies to the head of the ITV market through the creation of digital media devices that will connect the world of TV and the Internet.
X2, which is most well known for its consumer electronics products with digital devices such as the award-winning MEGA View portable video media players, the Stylebook™ women's notebooks, the MEGA PC HDTV media center PCs and more, plans to take ITV to the next level through the development of new user-friendly platforms and services. The goal is to create new products that function as a central hub/unit for multiple devices that will ease the transition and heighten use of ITV programming.
"X2 is excited to be working with DAVETV on creating new IPTV and ITV platforms," says Rex Wong, CEO of X2 Corporation. "As the ITV industry gains popularity, we aim to develop easy-to-use multi-purpose devices for the market that are functional and affordable for our customers."
The growing Interactive Television (ITV) space reveals a new demand for the convergence of interactive technology and television in which the user experience is enhanced through increased control over program content, enabling the viewer to immediately respond or alter programming. Video-on-demand (VOD), interactive news and educational programming, niche or local live event streaming video, and more are possibilities in the ITV experience. DAVETV is at the forefront of this development with its IPTV/ITV set-top box platforms.
"DAVETV is developing cutting-edge IPTV and ITV platforms," says Ken Lipscomb, CEO of DAVETV. "Our partnership with X2 greatly enhances our ability to deliver next generation IPTV and ITV products to the marketplace."
