Myrio Corporation, a Siemens ® business, announced Myrio Interactive ~ Creator
TM, an add-on to the Myrio ® IP Video Platform Version 3.7 that gives broadband service providers the ability to customize the Myrio Interactive
TM client and deliver a personalized Internet protocol television (IPTV) subscriber experience.
Myrio Interactive ~ Creator, a Java-based development environment for real-time customization of the Myrio Interactive user interface (UI), enables service providers to add their own branding throughout the user interface, define a custom menu structure and control the layout and appearance of content metadata. Finally, remote-control keys can be mapped directly to specific menu items to facilitate one-touch access to key content features.
Once the customized UI has been designed operators can then use Myrio TotalManage
TM to easily deploy it automatically to their subscribers. With Myrio Interactive ~ Creator, Myrio has incorporated the creative process into the commercial deployment of IPTV services while simultaneously reducing the operator’s time to market.
"Leading broadband service providers have realized that creating a unique and consistent brand experience on their interface is critical to their success," said Ryan Petty, Myrio's vice president of product management. "Overall, Version 3.7 of the Myrio IP Video Platform provides an open platform that is adaptive to the changing needs of the industry, while still driving down the costs of deploying and managing IPTV services."
In addition to Myrio Interactive ~ Creator, the release of version 3.7 of the Myrio IP Video Platform, which is comprised of Myrio Interactive, a Java-based client for set-top boxes and Myrio TotalManage, a back-office subscriber and content management application, includes a host of new features and enhancements enabling broadband service providers to deliver a compelling commercial IPTV service. By adding features such as subscription video on demand (SVOD), location based packaging and advanced metadata support based on the CableLabs 1.1 standard, Myrio has significantly reduced the time to market for operators to deploy IPTV services that meet their needs as well as the needs of their customers.
