Amino Communications,
ReadyLinks and
CopperGate Communications announced that they will be demonstrating a solution for distribution and display of IPTV over existing home wiring at the Connections Conference and Showcase May 11-13, 2005 in San Francisco. The demonstration, to be held in the CopperGate booth, #304, will showcase a cost effective solution developed by Amino and ReadyLinks for directly connecting IP set-top boxes to HomePNA 3 multimedia networks over coax cable or phonelines.
"We believe that advanced HomePNA 3 offers service providers a very cost effective and robust home networking technology," said Karthik Ranjan, VP Marketing, Amino. "The ability to transport high speed data over both phonelines and coax cables with guaranteed QoS makes it an ideal way to provide in-home triple play service distribution."
"The ReadyLinks SmartFoot
TM Adapter is a compact design, which provides a secure base while connecting power and data to the Amino set-top box," said Larry Synstelien, President of ReadyLinks. "The SmartFoot saves on installation costs and reduces the wiring clutter typically required with external bridge products."
Amino and ReadyLinks have put together an elegant and effective set-top box product that simplifies the deployment of IP TV services," said Richard Nesin, VP Marketing for CopperGate. The demonstration uses Amino set-top boxes and ReadyLinks SmartFoot adapters, which incorporate CopperGate's CopperStream chipset, in a network carrying multiple video streams in addition to best effort data at rates of 128Mbps over a hybrid phoneline/coax network.
